What we do

REAL Europe deliver the following types of studies globally both pre and post launch:

Non-interventional research study

Non-interventional research study

The collection of RWD to generate generalisable new knowledge where the medicinal product is prescribed in the usual manner in accordance with the terms of the marketing authorisation, without randomisation; the choice of treatment is separate from the  decision to enter the study; there are no additional diagnostic or monitoring procedures and epidemiological methods are used for analysis of results.

Post Authorization Efficacy Study

Post Authorization Efficacy Study (PAES)

A study relating to an authorised medicinal product conducted with the aim of resolving concerns about the efficacy of the product which can be resolved only after it has been marketed, or where the understanding of the disease, the clinical methodology or the use of the product under real-life conditions indicate that previous efficacy evaluations might have to be revised significantly.

Post Authorization Safety Study

Post Authorization Safety Study (PASS)

A study relating to an authorised medicinal product conducted with the aim of identifying, characterising or quantifying a safety hazard, confirming the safety profile of the medicinal product, or of measuring the effectiveness of risk management measures.

Patient Registry

Patient Registry

An organized system using observational study methods to collect uniform data for a population defined by a particular disease or condition, which may then be used to evaluate specified outcomes in a series of studies.

Burden of illness study

Burden of illness study

A study of the burden of illness on the patient, families, health service providers or society which may include direct financial costs, time commitment, and physical and psychological impact of a disease or treatment in the real world.

Patient centred outcomes study

Patient centred outcomes study (PROM/PREMPCOs)

A study using data gathered directly from patients, families or carers using measures of disease or treatment outcomes (PROMs) or patient experience (PREMs).

Drug-utilization study

A study of the marketing, distribution, prescription, and use of drugs in a society or health care system, with special emphasis on the resulting medical, social and economic consequences.

Epidemiological study and analysis

Epidemiological study and analysis

A study of the patterns, causes, and effects of health and disease conditions in defined populations to identify risk factors for disease and targets for preventive healthcare.

Local service evaluation/analysis

Local service evaluation/analysis

Collection of practical or management data to inform internal service decisions that are not intended to be generalised beyond the setting in which the evaluation took place.

Healthcare related market research study and survey

Healthcare related market research study and survey

An organised activity to gather insights and information on healthcare market or brand-related issues.

Time and motion study

Time & motion study

A study involving direct observation and accurate recording of time taken to perform tasks to allow evaluation and improvement of the systems used.

Single or multi-site audit

Single or multi-site audit

A comparison of current practice against a benchmark standard.

Database research

Database research

The process of examining pre-existing, large and varied data sets to uncover hidden patterns, unknown correlations and other useful information. Likely to be hypothesis generating information.

We can work with you to determine the right methodology to generate the real world evidence you need. Our solutions will always balance client’s timelines and budgets with data availability and may involve a mixed methodology approach.
